Our Photographer

I have researched photographers for a couple weeks now. When I say researching, I mean scouring the internet for countless hours as my eyes burned from not blinking for so long. I searched and searched for pictures I thought were amazing. Some of the best wedding photographers I’ve found on websites like Green Wedding Shoes and Wedding Chicks.
I have contacted a handful of photographers whose work I loved and every one came back with the same response. ”My wedding packages start at $4,000.” I was growing a little disheartened. One of the most important aspects of the wedding to me is the photographer. I wanted to find a photographer with a good eye for composition, one who didn’t take the stereotypical posed photos and a photographer who had good color and use of light. It turns out I have expensive taste.
Last week, I stumbled upon Jeff Wallace’s work on the Wedding Chicks blog. I loved his work but I tried not to fall too in love because experience told me that photographers with his talent typically started at $3,000-$5,000.
I emailed Jeff hoping he would tell me some good news about his pricing packages. And he did!
Jeff’s photography starts at $2,000. Even his basic package offers 8 hours of photography where as most photographers only offer 5. He gives you a CD of all his photos, where as most photographers charge you extra to give you the CD of images. Just seeing his photos I think his work is worth much more than that. Jeff just finished his first wedding season and has great shots to show for it.
Last night, Paul and I met with Jeff at Starbucks and we instantly like him. He is laid back and down to earth and seems to have a great ethic and passion for his work. While he is new to wedding photography, he isn’t new to photography . He has been a band photographer for a number of years and his photographs are a testament to his eye for composition and art. Once we solidify our wedding date, Jeff is our guy!
If you are looking for a great wedding photographer at an extremely reasonable price I would jump on the opportunity now. I can only imagine it is a matter of time until Jeff becomes more well-known on the wedding industry and catches on that he is offering all us brides-to-be an amazing price.

OMG I Love you! Literally you are truly writing everything that I am going through right now! Thank you soooo much! I have become so flustered about planning a wedding on a tight budget (which who would have thought $10-$12K is tight). Due to the tight budget we are thinking a backyard wedding it will be but photos are very important and a must!!! Your sense of sarcasm has made me believe there will be light at the end of the tunnel! Thank you!
