Peep-tastic

Okay…so tell me again why having a wedding cake with Peeps on it isn’t the most brilliant idea I have had so far?
Seriously a wedding cake+peeps=friggin amazing. Okay, maybe not the most refined of cakes, maybe not for a church wedding and maybe not for someone over the age of 5…but still I think it is awesome and were we in the South…I would make Paul get this as his grooms cake, because nothing says manly…like bear shaped marshmallows.
Mason Jars

I am in love with mason jars and wild flowers.
One, because they are awesome, duh!
Two, because they are inexpensive. Unless of course, you are looking in an overpriced antique store in Orange, in which case they are very expensive. Especially the blue ones.
Three, because they will look best in an outdoor rustic wedding, which is coincidentally exactly the kind of wedding I’ve got!
And here is why I love our wedding coordinator, Jesi Haack
When I met with Jesi she asked me, who is your florist?” and I said, “Me.” to which she replied, “No you’re not.”
And then she said, “Who is your baker?” and I was all, “Me!” Though this time with less enthusiasm. And she said, “Uh, NO YOU’RE NOT.”
Here is the thing, besides being super crafty, meticulous and sweet as can be…Jesi is good enough to say no to me only because she has my best interests in mind. Her point is this…it’s my wedding and while I could definitely pull off baking for 150 people and while I could reasonably trek up to LA and buy flowers and make them look pretty on a table in mason jars…I cannot do so for my wedding. To do so would mean unneeded stress, loss of sleep, grouchiness and not fully enjoying one of the best days of my life.
So, I will not be baking and I will not be floral arranging but I will have mason jars…this I know for sure.

While we are on the subject, I have realized something I need that is of vital importance.
I need a craft room.
I figure since Paul gets to have a “man cave”, which I can only imagine is a place where soda bottles, crumpled napkins and dirty laundry go to die, I should get a craft room. And in this pretend make believe place I call Craft Room, I want it to be beautiful and filled with ribbons, buttons, fabric, paint and all other items needed to make pretty things to sell on Etsy and give as presents to the deserving people in my life. And good stuff too…not crappy stuff that makes people be like, “Oh great! Crazy Aunt Irma made me a fluffy bunny suit to wear this Easter.”
And oh my JESUS how amazing are these craft rooms, and more importantly, what do these people do that allows them to have a room of such glory, and where the hell is my amazing craft room? I’m sure that is no way for a craft room having person to talk, but until I get mine…well you’ll just have to deal!
