Wedding Vendors

When you are wedding planning, you become a great detective, determined paralegal, and the best investigator in the world. You scour the internet for the perfect shade of organza for your chair sashes, you search Etsy endlessly for the ideal cake topper-it’s quite ridiculous actually. I spent this past week looking for two things to no avail, raw cotton and birch trees. Maybe you will understand why when you see the gorgeous pictures below:

So you see, I needed raw cotton. Look how organic and beautiful it is. Look at ALL the amazing things that it can do! So I searched and searched and found nothing! It made me, for the first time, wish I lived in the deep South. Even though I have a deep love for ethnicity and deep seeded hatred for humidity I no longer cared, I wanted to live in Mississippi next to a cotton field, so that I could pick all the raw cotton I wanted. And then, I found it. The Cotton Man, purveyor of all things cotton! And I thanked the Lord, because if there were two thing I wanted, it was to have cotton and to not move to Mississippi.
And then I was on to my next vision and so began my quest for white birch trees. I found a ton of birch branches, but I needed trees and it all stemmed from the inspiration of Ruthi (no, I do not know Ruthi, but her creativity inspires me, so I lovingly refer to her by her first name, no last name needed, she is like Madonna).
It turns out that birch trees like this are harder to find than…well, I can’t think of anything that is hard to find at the moment. My keys, when I have somewhere to be? A virgin in South Beach during Spring Break? I don’t know, all I am saying is they are hard to find. It did cross my mind to go to the Irvine Spectrum and steal them from the store whose display they resided in, but alas’ I didn’t have to, because I found Nettleton Hollow, which turns out to be such a cool store to buy lots of different trees, branches, flowers and grasses from.
I have been successful at solving 2 mysteries this week. Now I am off to solve the next case.
