Resolute

When celebrating New year’s this year, semi-intoxicated me decided to take a poll of party guests to decide what was great about 2009 and what sucked about 2009.  After I had their attention I promptly, and way too loudly, exclaimed that all of 2009 sucked.

Which made me an asshole.

Nothing clears your party buzz quicker than seeing the one you love’s face drop when you say all of 2009 sucks because you then realize that in 2009, you became engaged.  Making your comment a complete and total admission of callousness and oversight.

To be fair, 2009 did have many low points.  The largest one being losing my grandmother (which is an odd way to put it.  It’s not like I took her to the mall asked her to sit on the bench and then returned to find her missing.  I lost her, meaning the circle of life sucks and she passed away) that was followed by tearing my ACL, requiring surgery and subsequently no longer being able to fit into any of my jeans without wearing a billowy shirt to hide my ever-increasing muffin top.  It was then followed by my dad…which brought far too many sucky things to list out. So to recap, 2009 brought death, pain, injury, fat and crazy. BUT it also brought an engagement to an amazing and wonderful person that I wanted to marry more than I have ever wanted to marry anyone before in the history of anything.  And that is saying a lot because for half of my life all I wanted was to marry Jake Ryan on a glass table top over birthday cake.

So 2009…my apologies, you sucked much less than I gave you credit for.  And as for you 2010…you will be amazing because you will include a wedding.

Paul and I are terrible horrible models.  For one, we like food too much but most of all we are terrible at direction and at acting normal.  But luckily we caught this one shot which I LOVE.

Paul and I spent the day with one of my best friends Jami.  She has recently become very involved in photography and is well on her way to capturing many amazing photographs.  I am lucky to have such a talented and wonderful friend who was willing to spend the day in Trabuco Canyon taking our engagement pictures.  Here are a handful of them.
