This is another great song to play somewhere in the wedding day.

Play It and Die Song List

We’ve been debating over whether or not we want a DJ at the wedding.  We’ve toyed with the idea of having an Ipod and a trusted friend manning the station every now and then throughout the night.  When we got further down the road we looked at our viable pool of friends for the job and decided that most of our friends would be participating too heavily in the open bar to be trusted with the wedding entertainment.

So, this Sunday we are meeting with a DJ.

We already have most of our music picked for the day and figured a very important list to review with the DJ is the”Play it and Die” list.  A compilation of songs that we don’t like hearing at weddings we attend, let alone our own wedding.

So far our list includes:

  • YMCA
  • Macarena
  • Chicken Dance
  • Hokey Pokey
  • Locomotion
  • Cha Cha Slide
  • Conga
  • Who Let the Dogs Out
  • Celebration
  • Everybody Have Fun Tonight
  • Just the Two of Us

And now before you start thinking we are boring, let me close by saying we have some pretty great music tagged as well, including:

  • I’ll Be There for You Bon Jovi
  • Poision Bel Biv Devoe
  • I Need a Hero Bonnie Tyler
  • Gonna Make You Sweat C&C Music Factory
  • It Takes 2 Rob Base
  • Pour Some Sugar on Me Def Leppard
  • Livin on a Prayer Bon Jovi
  • Sweet Caroline Neil Diamond
  • Baby Got Back Sir mix A Lot
  • Ice Ice baby Vanilla Ice
  • Wild Thing Ton Loc
  • Push It Salt n Peppa
  • The Humpty Dance Digital Underground
  • Groove is in the Heart Dee-Lite

And the answer is yes, I am trying to channel my junior high school dance at our wedding, so what’s it to ya!

Beautiful Music

I loved this song to walk down the aisle to but it was vetoed by Paul, my MIL to be and one of my bridesmaids.  They thought it was a little too fast, I reasoned I would just walk faster…that still failed to win them over.  At some point through the wedding, I WILL play this song.  I love the words and the melody and it makes me all weepy, if that isn’t the makings of a perfect wedding song, I don’t know what is.

Where Am I?
